🕉️ Yoga According to the Bhagavad Gita

The Bhagavad Gita, spoken by Lord Krishna to Arjuna, presents Yoga not just as a practice, but as a complete way of life. It integrates action (karma), devotion (bhakti), knowledge (jnana), and meditation (dhyana) into a unified spiritual path.


📜 Key Definitions of Yoga in the Gita:

1. Samatvam Yoga Uchyate (Chapter 2, Verse 48)

“समत्वं योग उच्यते”
“Yoga is equanimity of mind in success and failure.”
Meaning: Stay balanced in joy and sorrow, gain and loss, victory and defeat.


2. Yogaḥ Karmasu Kaushalam (Chapter 2, Verse 50)

“योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्”
“Yoga is skill in action.”
Meaning: Do your duties wisely, without attachment to the outcome.


3. Yogī yunjīta satatam ātmānaṁ (Chapter 6, Verse 10)

“The yogi should constantly practice yoga by meditating on the Self.”
Meaning: True Yoga involves deep meditation and inner focus.


4. Tasmat yogi bhava Arjuna (Chapter 6, Verse 46)

“तस्माद्योगी भव अर्जुन”
“Therefore, become a Yogi, O Arjuna!”
Meaning: Among all paths, being a yogi is the highest.
